Sophie Rajotte DVM,MS,DACVO

Dr. Sophie Rajotte is originally from Montreal, Canada. Dr. Rajotte completed her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2015 at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Montreal. Afterwards, she completed a general internship in medicine and surgery for small animals at Western Veterinary Specialist and Emergency Center in collaboration with the University of Calgary. Following her internship, Dr. Rajotte completed a specialized internship as well as a residency in veterinary ophthalmology at the University of Illinois. During her residency, she also completed a master degree in clinical setting with emphasis on the use of new medications in veterinary medicine to improve, in the near future, pain management in our pets. She was very excited to join the AEC team in Cary in late 2021.

In Ophthalmology, Dr. Rajotte has a particular interest in corneal repair and cataract surgery as well as corneal pain management. She also has an interest in equine ocular diseases. In her free time, Dr. Rajotte loves to hike with her one-eyed dog Maple and her English Labrador Retriever Baloo. She also likes paddle boarding, running, and she is an avid reader.
